- Open your credit union checking account. Download and complete the application and bring to our office with your deposit.
- Change your direct deposit(s) to come straight to your credit union. Download and complete the change form and give to your employer’s payroll department, the Social Security office or your retirement plan administrator. Be sure to include one of your new deposit slips or voided checks with the change form.
- Change any automatic payment drafts by notifying any company who withdraws payments from your account for loans, utility payments, credit cards, insurance, telephone, cable, mortgages, etc.
- Close your checking account at the bank. After you have stopped using your old checking account and allowed time for all outstanding checks to clear; usually 10 days, you can then destroy your unused checks, ATM/debit card(s) and deposit slips.
